History
Modern International, Inc. (MII) was founded in 1983 by Mr. Hoo Cho Kim. On May 5, 1994, MII received an Administrator's Award of Excellence from the U.S. Small Business Administration (US SBA) for its outstanding performance. MII was Guam’s first contractor who was certified under the SBA’s 8(A) program and eventually graduated from the program on May 18, 2007. The President, Mr. Kim himself, was also awarded an Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2003 from the US SBA.
From its inception in 1983 to the present, Modern International, Inc. has committed itself to providing a competent management team of professionals, licensed consultants, certified workers, and skilled workers to maintain its construction standards. Mr. Kim has ensured that MII’s construction projects are executed with extreme safety, quality work, and timely completion of every awarded contract.
Today, Modern International Inc.'s bonding capacity is up to $50 million within an aggregate work program of $100 million.
